Objective
Understand real caregiver constraints before locking any hardware decisions.
Issue
Assumptions about screen size, button layout, and notification style may not match how families actually use assistive devices day to day.
Observation
Caregivers consistently prioritise reliability and simplicity over features. A device that sometimes fails is worse than one that does less but never surprises them.
Finding
Physical presence + clear audio is more important than a rich visual UI at this stage. Family oversight should be passive by default (receive confirmation) rather than requiring constant checking.
Next Step
Build a minimal audio-first prototype with three hard-coded daily events and a simple family SMS or app confirmation path. Test with one family first.
